What is Entrelac knitting? How to knit?

Entrelac knitting
Entrelac knitting is a knitting technique used to create a textured fabric that looks like a series of interwoven diamonds or rectangles. The unique appearance of entrelac is achieved by knitting small units, or blocks, one at a time and connecting them as you go. This creates the illusion of a woven fabric, even though the piece is actually knit.
Entrelac can be worked in one color, but it is often done using multiple colors to highlight the distinctive pattern. It can be used to create a wide variety of projects, such as scarves, shawls, blankets, and even garments.
To knit entrelac, you will need to be familiar with basic knitting techniques, such as casting on, knitting, and purling. In addition, you'll need to learn how to pick up stitches, which is essential for connecting the blocks.

Entrelac can be knit flat or in the round for a cylinder. However, unlike typical round knitting, the knitting is turned after a full round of squares so the next set is knitted in the opposite direction.

Here’s the detail of how to entrelac knitting. I found it in a "Entrelac" book.
